Karen DeSoto honored by NAACP along with five others at the 95th annual Freedom Fund Banquet of the Jersey City Chapter of the NAACP on November 15, 2015.
Karen was honored by the the Jersey City chapter of the NAACP this year — along with Senator Sandra Cunningham, Patricia Bryant, associate superintendent of Jersey City public schools, Nathaniel Legay, pastor of Metropolitan Zion AME Church, Frank Schillari, the sheriff of Hudson County, and fellow attorney Irwin Rosen.
Karen said that “It was a privilege to be recognized by the NAAPC, along side such esteemed people who also share my passion for our community; through public service and dedication we are all working towards a better Jersey City community.”
The event was held at the Casino-in-the-Park, (Lincoln Park) located in Jersey City.
“Each One, Teach One! Reach Out and Help Another!” was this year’s theme, and it’s guest speaker was the mayor of East Orange, Lester E. Taylor III.
